Wyomissing Foundation History
The Wyomissing Foundation, Inc. was established in 1928 by three local industrialists, founders of the Wyomissing Industries. For nearly 80 years the Foundation has been led by Thun family members, descendents of Ferdinand and Anna Thun the original developers of the Foundation.
Ferdinand Thun established precedents in use of his vision, leadership and resources to fund many significant community projects in Wyomissing and Berks County Pennsylvania.
The tradition is continuing as the Board of Trustees comprised of family and Berks County community leaders continues to fund Strategic Initiatives that improve the quality of life in the community.
